“Each Night of Solitude” heading to Cannes Film Market

TEHRAN, April 21 (MNA) -- The Iranian film “Each Night of Solitude” will be available at the Marche du Film -- the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival -- which will be held from May 14 to 23.

Directed by Rasul Sadr-Ameli, the movie is the second film of his “The City that I Love” trilogy. The first part of the trilogy, “The Night”, was screened at the 26th Fajr International Film Festival in February 2008.

 

Reza Mirkarimi’s “So Simple” and Mohammad-Ali Basheh-Ahangar’s “Child of the Earth” will also be available at the Cannes film market.

 

 

“Bride of Fire” to light up the silver screen at Rochester festival

 

TEHRAN -- Khosrow Sinaii’s “Bride of Fire” will be screened at Rochester’s International High Fall Film Festival, which will be held from April 30 to May 5 in upstate New York.

 

The film tells the story of Ahlam, a female medical student who is in love with one of her professors. However, according to the unchangeable customs of her tribe, she must marry her illiterate and unemployed cousin Farhan. Problems ensue when she decides she wants a different destiny.
